British broadcaster Piers Morgan confronted Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Yusuf Tuggar, during an interview, expressing shock over what he described as the minister’s inability to provide clear data or direct responses regarding the killings of Christians in Nigeria.
Morgan, visibly frustrated, noted that the minister appeared to be avoiding his questions about religiously motivated attacks and the number of Christian victims across the country.
“You seem to be avoiding my questions, and you don’t appear to know how many Christians have been murdered, which I find quite surprising,” Morgan told Tuggar during the exchange.
The interview comes amid growing international concern over attacks on religious communities in Nigeria, particularly in regions where insecurity has escalated due to terrorism, banditry, and communal violence.
Minister Tuggar attempted to clarify the government’s broader approach to tackling insecurity, but Morgan continued pressing for specific answers related to Christian casualties — a point he insisted Nigerian authorities have not addressed adequately.
The tense exchange has since sparked debate online, with many viewers urging the Nigerian government to improve communication, release accurate data, and strengthen measures to protect vulnerable communities across the country.
