A heated confrontation broke out aboard a United Nigeria Airlines flight from Asaba to Lagos after social media personality Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), and comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, popularly called Mr Jollof, became involved in a physical altercation mid-flight.
The incident came to light after Facebook user Dr. Paul Ezikel posted a video on Monday showing the two public figures in a scuffle while passengers looked on. The footage quickly circulated online, stirring widespread reactions.
VDM later addressed the clash in a video posted on his own Facebook page, claiming he overpowered Mr Jollof during the fight. Speaking in pidgin, he recounted how the confrontation started and escalated:
“I don chop Jollof fada for inside plane. Man wey dey bite, e nor shame, e dey bite. I enter plane, I see am, naim I tell am say today you go slap me oo… I go near am, naim e punch me. When I follow am, e start to bite me… him eye red,” he alleged.
The altercation reportedly began shortly after boarding, with tensions rising between both men before the situation turned physical. Passengers and crew members intervened to restore calm.
