Tensions in Gaza have intensified following reports that Israel deployed a new and highly destructive type of bomb during recent airstrikes. Palestinian sources described the weapon as a “mini nuke” due to its massive explosion and devastating impact, though military analysts suggest it was more likely a thermobaric — or vacuum — bomb.
Thermobaric weapons, also known as fuel–air explosives, create powerful blast waves by using atmospheric oxygen to generate intense heat and pressure. Unlike conventional explosives, they cause widespread destruction over a larger area and are particularly lethal in enclosed spaces.
The latest airstrikes come amid continued hostilities between Israel and Palestinian factions, with civilians bearing the brunt of the violence. Calls for restraint and renewed diplomatic efforts are growing as fears mount over the potential humanitarian fallout from the deployment of such powerful weaponry.
