Paris was thrown into turmoil today after rioters set a popular restaurant on fire during a wave of violent protests sweeping across France. The blaze, which engulfed Wafu Bar on Rue St Denis, sent flames climbing the building’s façade, leaving the restaurant completely gutted as riot police fought to contain the inferno.

The incident comes amid the escalating “Block Everything” campaign, a nationwide protest movement aimed at crippling transport links and forcing a standstill across the country. French authorities confirmed that more than 350 arrests have already been made as demonstrations turned violent in multiple cities.

The French capital has emerged as the epicenter of the unrest, with over a hundred separate blazes reported in different parts of Paris. The destruction at Wafu Bar stands out as one of the most severe, symbolizing the fury of demonstrators who accuse President Emmanuel Macron’s government of failing the nation.

Government ministers have warned that France is now gripped by what they describe as an “insurrectional mood,” with Macron’s administration facing mounting pressure and growing calls for accountability. As clashes intensify, heavily armed riot police continue to patrol the streets, battling both protesters and fires across the city.
