Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has rubbished media speculation over his fitness, declaring himself ready for action after sealing a move to Bundesliga side SV Werder Bremen.
Speaking during his official unveiling, the 24-year-old Nigerian forward hit back at reports questioning his condition. “Whatever you want to believe in the media, you can believe—that’s not on me. I don’t care. If my body is not 100%, I would be in the hospital, not here talking to you,” Boniface said confidently.
Boniface arrives at Werder Bremen on a season-long loan from Bayer Leverkusen, looking to revive his career after a turbulent summer transfer window. The striker had been on the verge of joining Serie A giants AC Milan, but the deal collapsed at the last stage following concerns raised during his medical examination. A potential switch to Saudi Arabia also failed to materialize, further fueling doubts about his fitness.
Despite those setbacks, Boniface insists he is in top shape and focused on proving himself in the Bundesliga. Bremen’s coaching staff have also backed the Nigerian, expressing optimism that his physical strength and attacking prowess will make an immediate impact.
With the new season underway, Boniface is determined to silence critics and show why he remains one of Nigeria’s most promising attacking talents.
