VIDEO: Suspected Gas Cylinder Explosion Destroys Six Homes in Bengaluru’s Chinnayanpalya

Tragedy struck Bengaluru’s Chinnayanpalya area in Wilson Garden on Friday after a suspected gas cylinder explosion ripped through a tightly packed residential neighborhood, killing a 10-year-old boy and injuring at least 12 others.

The blast, believed to have been caused by a gas leak, caused widespread damage — destroying six houses and leaving several others badly damaged. Chinnayanpalya, a dense residential hub where homes stand closely together, bore the brunt of the explosion’s force, sending shockwaves through the community.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene, with the injured quickly transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. According to the Adu Godi Police, rescue operations were still ongoing at the time of reporting as officials combed through the debris.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited the blast site to assess the situation and offer condolences to the victims’ families. Senior police officials, including the Commissioner of Bengaluru City Police, were also present as investigations into the cause of the explosion continue.

The incident has left the neighborhood shaken, with residents mourning the young life lost and counting the cost of the destruction. Authorities are urging caution and safety awareness regarding gas cylinder use in densely populated areas to prevent such tragedies from recurring.
