French authorities have relocated around 250 migrants who had been camping outside Paris City Hall, transporting them by coach to reception centers across the country. The group, which included families and young children, had been staging a protest since August 5 to demand emergency housing.
Despite the relocation, roughly 200 migrants remain camped outside the city’s government headquarters, continuing their call for shelter and urgent action from the French government. Many of the demonstrators say they were forced into the streets due to an acute housing shortage, leaving them without a safe place to live.

The protest has highlighted growing tensions over France’s housing crisis, with advocates warning that vulnerable migrants, especially families with children, face increased risks as they await government intervention. The situation has also reignited debate over how the country balances housing needs for both citizens and newly arrived migrants.
