South Korean football icon Son Heung-min has officially announced his departure from Tottenham Hotspur, bringing an emotional end to a remarkable ten-year journey with the North London club.

In a heartfelt press conference held in Seoul, the 33-year-old forward confirmed that he has played his final game for Spurs — a club where he grew from a hopeful young talent into a global superstar and beloved captain.

Reflecting on his time in the Premier League, Son recalled his humble beginnings after joining Tottenham in 2015 from Bayer Leverkusen. “I came to north London as a kid. A boy who couldn’t speak English,” he said. “I leave this club as a grown man, a very proud man. Thanks to all the Spurs fans who have given me so much love.”

Son’s announcement comes as Tottenham prepare for their preseason matches, making the timing all the more poignant for supporters. His voice cracked with emotion as he described the difficulty of his decision, calling it the hardest moment of his career.

“It was the most difficult decision I have made in my career. Such amazing memories,” he said. “I hope the goodbye is also good timing and this is the right time to make that decision. I hope everyone can accept and respect that.”
