Louis Rees-Zammit has officially announced his departure from the NFL and his return to professional rugby, marking the end of his 18-month journey pursuing a career in American football.

Rees-Zammit spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs and was later part of the Jacksonville Jaguars squad that travelled to London for two games last season. Despite showing promise, he never made a regular-season appearance with either team.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Rees-Zammit expressed gratitude for the experience but emphasized that the time had come to return to his roots.

“It’s been a great experience, but it’s time to come home,” he wrote. “I’ve decided that this is the best time to make this decision to give myself time to get everything in place for next season. There’s only one thing that’s on my mind—that’s coming back to rugby and doing what I do best. I can’t explain how excited I am!!”

His statement has already sparked anticipation among rugby fans, particularly in Wales, who are eager to see the winger bring his electric form back to the pitch. As Rees-Zammit gears up for the next chapter of his athletic career, the rugby world waits with bated breath to see where he’ll land next—and what kind of impact he’ll make on his return.
