Germany has officially launched an air bridge to the Gaza Strip, delivering urgently needed humanitarian aid to civilians affected by the ongoing crisis. In a coordinated effort with Jordan, the German Bundeswehr (Armed Forces) began the operation by dropping nearly 14 tons of food and medical supplies into the besieged territory.
According to reports, the first two flights carried a total of 34 aid pallets. These drops mark the initial phase of a broader humanitarian airlift aimed at alleviating the dire conditions in Gaza, where access to basic necessities like food, water, and medical care has been severely limited.

The German Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the operation, emphasizing that it is part of a joint humanitarian initiative with Jordan. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz had earlier announced the effort at the beginning of the week, underscoring Berlin’s commitment to supporting civilian populations in conflict zones.

The Gaza Strip remains under a tight blockade by Israeli forces, and international pressure continues to mount for greater access to humanitarian corridors. Germany’s airlift follows similar actions by other nations and highlights the growing international response to what the United Nations has described as a looming humanitarian catastrophe.
