FC Barcelona have officially confirmed the signing of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford on loan, in a move that could become permanent. The La Liga champions announced the deal on Wednesday, revealing that the England international will remain at Camp Nou until June 30, 2026.

According to the club’s statement, Barcelona and Manchester United reached an agreement that includes a purchase option, giving the Catalan side the opportunity to sign Rashford permanently at the end of the loan period.

Spanish media report that Barcelona will cover approximately 75% of Rashford’s £325,000-a-week salary (roughly $435,000), while the player has reportedly agreed to waive the remaining portion to facilitate the move.

The 27-year-old has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford under head coach Ruben Amorim and was sent on loan to Aston Villa during the latter part of the 2024/25 season. His lack of playing time and shift in the squad hierarchy under Amorim sparked speculation about a summer exit, with Barcelona now providing the forward a fresh start.
