Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been officially charged with multiple sexual offences by the Metropolitan Police Service, following an investigation into incidents alleged to have occurred between 2021 and 2022.
In a statement released by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), it was confirmed that police were authorised to proceed with charges after a file of evidence was reviewed by prosecutors. “The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised the Metropolitan Police Service to charge a man after a file of evidence was submitted by detectives,” the statement read.

The Met Police identified the individual as Thomas Partey, 32, of Hertfordshire. He is now facing five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, according to the official charge and requisition issued.

The allegations cover a time span of roughly two years and are said to involve multiple incidents. The case is expected to proceed through the UK’s judicial system in the coming months, with Partey now formally required to respond to the charges in court.

As the news breaks, neither Arsenal Football Club nor Partey’s legal team has issued a public response. The case is likely to draw significant attention, both for its serious nature and its implications for the player’s professional career.
Legal experts note that, as with any criminal case, Thomas Partey is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The proceedings will now move forward under the guidance of the CPS and in accordance with the UK’s legal framework.
