Kenya’s ongoing wave of youth-led protests took a violent turn on Tuesday after demonstrators set fire to the home of a sitting Member of Parliament and a constituency court building.
The unrest, fueled by deep frustration over governance and economic grievances, has resulted in multiple arrests as security forces move to contain the escalating situation.

The attacks come amid nationwide demonstrations largely driven by Gen Z activists, who have mobilized across the country to protest rising living costs, taxation, and perceived government indifference.
Local officials confirmed that both the MP’s residence and the court facility were severely damaged, though no casualties have been reported in those specific incidents. The destruction marks a serious escalation in what has become one of Kenya’s most significant youth uprisings in recent years.
