Al Nassr have officially ended their partnership with Italian manager Stefano Pioli, just nine months after appointing him to lead the Saudi Pro League club. The announcement was made on Wednesday through the club’s official channels, bringing an abrupt end to Pioli’s tenure in Riyadh.

No specific reason was given for the departure, though speculation is already mounting about Pioli’s possible return to Italy, with reports linking him to a second stint at Fiorentina. The 59-year-old is a well-known figure in Italian football and most notably guided AC Milan to the Serie A title in 2022.

“Al Nassr announces that Mr. Pioli and his staff no longer coach the first team,” the club shared on social media. “We would like to thank Mr. Pioli and his staff for their work last season,” the statement added.

During his short spell with the club, Pioli oversaw a squad that includes global star Cristiano Ronaldo. Despite high expectations, Al Nassr ended the season in third place in the league, falling short of the title.

Pioli joined Al Nassr in September 2024 after nearly five years at AC Milan, where he helped revive the Rossoneri and reestablish them as contenders in European football. His coaching résumé also includes roles at several top Italian clubs, including Fiorentina, Inter Milan, Lazio, and Bologna.
