Afrobeats icon Davido has officially pulled out of the much-anticipated concert headlined by 50 Cent, set for July 3 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
The Nigerian superstar was originally slated to perform alongside music legends like Mary J. Blige, but announced his withdrawal via Instagram, citing unresolved issues around the event’s planning and quality assurance.
“This decision is not a reflection of turnout or support,” Davido clarified. “It is a matter of principle and respect for my craft, my fans, and the culture I represent.”

Despite strong ticket sales and fan anticipation, Davido said that major concerns with the event’s execution led to his difficult decision. He emphasized that he had worked diligently with promoters, The Necto Future Group, in hopes of delivering a top-tier performance, but persistent misalignments made it impossible to proceed without compromising the integrity of his set.

“Unfortunately, these issues remain unresolved,” he said. “As a result, I regret to inform you that I will no longer be performing at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on July 3rd.”
Davido reassured fans that the rest of his summer tour remains unaffected. “London, I’ll see you guys soon, I promise! The rest of the shows this summer are still happening. 5ive is still alive! See you guys in Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Canada, and the US! Africa must be respected.”
Though disappointing for fans in London, Davido’s decision reinforces his commitment to artistic quality and cultural integrity, values that continue to define his global rise.
