Tehran descended into chaos and fear on Friday as Israeli missile strikes targeted the Iranian capital, prompting loud explosions, defensive fire from Iranian air systems, and mass street demonstrations. Sirens blared across the city while anti-aircraft batteries lit up the night sky, scrambling to intercept incoming Israeli projectiles.

Amid the aerial assault, angry crowds flooded major streets, chanting “Death to Israel!” in a show of defiance and outrage. Videos from the scene showed people running for cover, while others gathered in large numbers near mosques and public squares, waving Iranian flags and condemning what they called Israeli aggression.

The airstrikes on Tehran are part of Operation Rising Lion, a wide-reaching Israeli military campaign that has already struck multiple Iranian cities and strategic sites. Israeli officials claim the operation is a direct response to escalating threats from Iran’s nuclear and military programs, which they describe as a danger to Israel’s survival.

In response, Iran activated its surface-to-air missile systems across key defense zones in and around Tehran. Witnesses reported loud booms, flashing lights from interceptor missiles, and shattered windows in some neighborhoods.
