Thick smoke and towering flames engulfed parts of Bushehr port in southern Iran on Friday following a powerful airstrike, as the ongoing confrontation between Israel and Iran continues to escalate across multiple fronts.

The airstrike reportedly targeted critical infrastructure within the port, a key gateway for maritime trade and located not far from Iran’s only nuclear power plant.

The strike on Bushehr marks a significant expansion of Israel’s Operation Rising Lion, which has already hit several major Iranian cities and military installations. While the Israeli military has not officially commented on this specific strike, the attack aligns with the operation’s broader objective of crippling Iran’s nuclear capabilities and logistical networks.

Footage circulating on social media and Iranian outlets shows plumes of black smoke billowing into the sky, with flames lighting up the coastline. The full extent of the damage and any potential casualties have yet to be confirmed by Iranian authorities.

Bushehr, home to a Russian-built nuclear power facility, is considered a high-value target, and today’s airstrike signals an even bolder phase of Israel’s military campaign. The growing intensity and reach of these operations are raising concerns among international observers, with renewed calls for restraint and diplomatic resolution.
