In a powerful and revealing interview with Sky News anchor Yalda Hakim, Indian High Commissioner to the UK Vikram Doraiswami laid bare Pakistan’s alleged state support for terrorism, using photographic evidence that has since gone viral across global media.

During the conversation, Doraiswami presented a striking image that captured Pakistani Army officers attending the funeral of terrorists killed in India’s Operation Sindoor, an anti-terror operation. The photograph also shows Hafiz Abdur Rauf, a UN-designated and U.S.-sanctioned terrorist, leading the funeral prayers.

“This person here is a sanctioned terrorist under the American sanctions regime,” Doraiswami said, pointing to Rauf in the image.

“His name is Hafiz Abdur Rauf…he’s the brother of the founder of the terrorist group which you just mentioned,” he added, referencing Masood Azhar, the head of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM)—a group responsible for numerous attacks on Indian soil.

The image and Doraiswami’s remarks have reignited global concerns about Pakistan’s alleged links to terrorism, particularly the state’s ongoing patronage of extremist elements.

Hafiz Abdur Rauf, long known for his extremist rhetoric and militant associations, is not only a key figure in JeM but also closely related to its chief, Masood Azhar, whose organization has been blamed for high-profile terror attacks like the Pulwama bombing in 2019.

The presence of uniformed Pakistani military personnel at the funeral has sparked outrage, raising fresh questions about the country’s military-terrorist nexus. Analysts argue that this image underscores the blurred lines between Pakistan’s official apparatus and globally recognized terror networks.

India has consistently called on the international community to hold Pakistan accountable for its support of cross-border terrorism. By showcasing visual evidence during a major international media interview, Doraiswami has attempted to reinforce India’s longstanding claims and draw global attention to the continued threat posed by state-sponsored terrorism.

The timing is also crucial—this revelation comes amid heightened tensions in South Asia and growing global scrutiny of terror financing and state complicity.

As the international spotlight turns toward Islamabad, the image presented by Doraiswami could serve as a pivotal piece of evidence in India’s diplomatic campaign to isolate and expose terror sympathizers operating under state protection.
