Indian communities across the globe organized massive protests on Sunday, demanding justice for the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians last Tuesday.
Demonstrations erupted in Canada, Denmark, England, France, Finland, Germany, Spain, and the United States, as grief and outrage spread beyond India’s borders.
Protesters carried placards with messages supporting India, waved the national flag, and chanted slogans condemning Pakistan, calling for accountability and justice.
The Pahalgam attack, one of the deadliest assaults on civilians in recent years, has reignited tensions between India and Pakistan, particularly after evidence pointed to the involvement of a terror group linked to the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba.

One protester in Paris held a sign reading, “India, we stand with you,” and highlighted Pakistan’s history of harboring terrorist groups responsible for attacks like Pulwama, the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, and now Pahalgam. Speaking to ANI, he stressed, “We do not represent a religion or a political party. We are simply here to send a strong message to Pakistan.”

In London, a member of the Indian community emphasized their solidarity with the families of the victims. “We hope the Indian government responds to Pakistan in a language they understand,” the protester said, reflecting the widespread anger and demand for a firm response.

The emotional weight of the protests was particularly heavy for Kashmiri Hindus living abroad. A woman participating in the Washington protest spoke of her personal pain, recalling the mass exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley in the early 1990s.

“We were targeted for our faith. My grandfather was shot simply because he was a Hindu. April 22 brought back all those horrific memories,” she said, underscoring how the Pahalgam attack has reopened deep wounds for many.
Tragic reports from the Baisaran valley, where the attack took place, revealed that the terrorists singled out victims based on their religion, brutally killing those who identified as Hindu.

In response to the attack, India swiftly imposed a series of stringent measures against Pakistan. These included the expulsion of Pakistani military attaches, the suspension of the crucial Indus Waters Treaty, and the immediate closure of the Attari land-transit post. Pakistan retaliated by suspending all bilateral agreements with India, including the historic Simla Agreement.
Authorities have released sketches of three suspects believed to be involved in the attack: Hashim Musa alias Suleman and Ali Bhai alias Talha Bhai, both from Pakistan, and Adil Hussain Thoker from the Anantnag district of Kashmir. A reward of Rs 20 lakh has been announced for any credible information leading to their capture.
As the Indian government ramps up diplomatic and security measures, the global Indian diaspora continues to stand united, calling for justice, remembrance, and an end to the cycle of terror.
