AC Milan appear ready to make a decisive move in the transfer market, with reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport confirming the club’s intention to sign Kyle Walker on a permanent deal.
The experienced right-back has been on loan from Manchester City since January, and his performances — both on and off the pitch — seem to have convinced Milan that he’s a long-term fit.
Despite spending much of his time in Italy recovering from an elbow fracture, Walker’s influence has reportedly made an impact within the Rossoneri camp.

The 34-year-old underwent surgery earlier this month and is expected to be back before the end of the season, though a specific recovery timeline hasn’t been disclosed.

Milan’s loan agreement with Manchester City included a €5 million buy option, a bargain considering Walker’s pedigree and experience. With the defender’s contract at City expiring next summer, the deal appears to make sense for all parties.
Even transfer guru Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed that City are preparing to bring in a new right-back — further signaling Walker’s exit from the Etihad.

The bigger picture at Milan suggests that more changes could be on the horizon. According to Gazzetta, the club is also open to listening to offers for club captain Theo Hernandez. The French full-back is under contract until 2026, but no renewal has been agreed upon — raising questions about his long-term future at San Siro.
As Milan gears up for another summer of transition and ambition, bringing in seasoned players like Walker could help lay the foundation for a more defensively solid and experienced side. And if the club does decide to cash in on Hernandez, Walker’s leadership and know-how will be even more vital in steering the team through the next chapter.
