Political tension has escalated in Benue State following the alleged killing of an aide to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, during an official state function in Gboko Local Government Area.
According to verified reports, the incident involved Terver Benda, who is said to be an aide to Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia. The altercation reportedly occurred at a government-related event in Gboko, where an argument allegedly turned violent, resulting in the fatal stabbing of the SGF’s aide.
Eyewitness accounts suggest the incident caused panic at the venue as attendees scrambled for safety. Security personnel were said to have intervened immediately, while the victim was rushed for medical attention but was later confirmed dead.
