A total of 4,427 new lawyers have officially been called to the Nigerian Bar in a ceremony held in Abuja, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s legal profession.
The event, organized by the Body of Benchers, brought together distinguished members of the judiciary, senior advocates, and families of the new wigs who celebrated the historic achievement.
The call to bar ceremony is a critical step for every law graduate in Nigeria, as it grants them the right to practice as barristers and solicitors of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. It also represents years of academic and professional preparation at the Nigerian Law School.
The successful candidates were urged to uphold the principles of integrity, discipline, and professionalism as they begin their legal careers. The moment also serves as a reminder of the vital role young lawyers will play in strengthening the country’s justice system.
