A concerned resident has raised alarm over the growing sanitation crisis in Gwarimpa, Abuja, where overflowing dustbins have reportedly blocked parts of the road along 3rd Avenue.
Expressing his frustration, the resident described the situation as unprecedented, noting that refuse heaps have spilled over into the streets, disrupting movement and creating an eyesore in one of Abuja’s most popular neighborhoods.
He further called on the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, to urgently intervene and restore proper waste management in the area. According to him, the unattended garbage not only obstructs traffic but also poses health and environmental risks to residents.
The incident has drawn attention on social media, where many Nigerians are demanding more effective urban sanitation policies to prevent similar occurrences in the capital city.
