A self-proclaimed internet fraudster, popularly referred to in Nigeria as a Yahoo boy, has sparked outrage online after boasting about the use of rituals—known locally as juju—to enhance his fraudulent activities.

In a viral video, the young man advised aspiring fraudsters, whom he referred to as “upcoming Pablos,” to embrace ritual practices if they hoped to make significant money. According to him, without such practices, their earnings would be limited. “If you don’t do juju, you’ll only be cashing out $50 or $100,” he claimed. “I bought a GLE and gold the moment I started doing juju.”

The statement has drawn widespread criticism, with many condemning both the glorification of internet fraud and the disturbing promotion of ritual practices. Internet fraud, commonly called Yahoo Yahoo in Nigeria, has long been a source of concern for authorities, who link it to not only financial crimes but also ritual-related violence.
