Heavy rainfall lashed the State of Mexico (Edomex), transforming major roads and residential areas into rivers and causing widespread disruption. The downpour, which struck late Monday, left vehicles stranded and forced residents to wade through rising waters in several municipalities.

Videos circulating on social media showed torrents of water sweeping through streets, with drivers struggling to navigate flooded roads. Local authorities have urged residents to remain cautious, as more rain is expected in the coming days.

Emergency services were deployed to assist stranded commuters and to monitor areas at high risk of flooding. Although no casualties have been reported so far, property damage and traffic paralysis have intensified concerns about infrastructure resilience in the state.

Edomex frequently faces severe weather during the rainy season, but residents say this latest flooding is among the worst in recent months. Meteorologists have warned that climate patterns could bring further heavy downpours, urging local governments to step up drainage and flood-prevention measures.
