Reality TV star and Big Brother Naija winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has accused the Dangote Group of failing to honor its commitment to provide medical care for her sister, who was severely injured in an accident involving one of the company’s trucks.

Phyna had earlier revealed that the accident led to her sister’s leg being amputated. Following her public outcry, Dangote Group issued a statement taking responsibility for the incident and promised to cover her sister’s medical expenses, including overseas treatment.

However, in a fresh Instagram post on Wednesday, Phyna claimed the company has failed to keep its word, leaving her sister’s life at risk. She disclosed that her sister requires urgent medical treatment in India due to multiple complications.

“My sister’s life must not be put at risk. She needs urgent care and it’s beyond what local hospitals can handle. Dangote must keep to their words. If Dangote’s child is sick, do they wait for medical reports before seeking the best care? My sister’s lungs have fluid, her reproductive organ is crushed, and her bladder is busted. Every day we’re praying for her to survive to the next day, yet they are trying to outsmart me,” Phyna lamented.

She further alleged that despite prior agreements and completed paperwork for her sister’s medical evacuation abroad, the company is stalling and reneging on its promises. Phyna appealed directly to business magnate Aliko Dangote to intervene, insisting that her sister’s life should not be gambled with.

“You’re trying to play me, to make me feel like I don’t know what I’m saying. We had an agreement that my sister would be treated abroad. All documents for her evacuation are ready, yet they keep dragging their feet. I cannot use my sister’s life to gamble,” she said.

The incident has reignited discussions online about corporate accountability and the responsibility of companies to victims of accidents involving their operations.
