U.S. President Donald Trump has hinted at a significant disagreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin following their high-stakes meeting, but he stopped short of revealing the details publicly.
In an exclusive interview with Fox News after the talks, Trump was pressed on reports that there was one major issue he and Putin could not agree on. When asked if he was prepared to disclose the matter, Trump replied, “I would rather not. I guess somebody is gonna go public with it, they’ll figure it out.”
His refusal to elaborate has fueled speculation about the nature of the disagreement, particularly against the backdrop of ongoing tensions surrounding the war in Ukraine and global security concerns. While Trump emphasized the overall importance of dialogue with Russia, his cryptic remarks suggest that not all aspects of the meeting ended in consensus.

The interview comes just hours after the two leaders met in Alaska, where Trump hosted Putin at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.
