U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a direct warning to Iran, stating that any attempt by Tehran to restart its nuclear program will be met with swift and decisive U.S. military action. The warning came during Trump’s meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the Turnberry golf resort in Scotland on Monday.

The president’s remarks follow last month’s U.S. strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites — a move that heightened tensions across the region and drew international attention.

While Iran maintains that its nuclear activities are for peaceful purposes and denies any ambition to develop nuclear weapons, it has publicly vowed not to abandon domestic uranium enrichment despite the bombings.

Speaking to reporters, Trump accused Iran of sending “nasty signals” and reaffirmed that the U.S. will not hesitate to act if provoked.

“We wiped out their nuclear possibilities. They can start again. If they do, we’ll wipe it out faster than you can wave your finger at it,” Trump stated in a stark message aimed at deterring further development.

The comments underscore Trump’s continued hardline stance on Iran’s nuclear ambitions, even as global powers urge restraint and diplomacy. Washington’s concern stems from Iran’s persistent refusal to roll back its enrichment programs, which the U.S. and its allies fear could lead to nuclear weaponization.
Iran, however, remains defiant. Officials in Tehran have reiterated that the country’s nuclear program is entirely civilian and falls within its sovereign rights under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
