Footage emerging from Ukraine-held Zaporozhye has captured swarms of locusts sweeping across fields and villages in a scene more reminiscent of a natural disaster than daily life. The plague-like infestation has sparked concern among local farmers and residents, who are already grappling with the ongoing impact of war.

The videos, which have gone viral on social media, show dense clouds of insects blackening the sky and blanketing crops, roads, and buildings.
Farmers in the region report that the locusts are devastating farmlands, threatening what little remains of agricultural stability in one of Ukraine’s most contested regions. Local authorities have confirmed the outbreak and are working with agricultural experts to assess the scale of the damage.
