A Russian first-person view (FPV) drone struck the vehicle of Kherson’s Chief Rabbi, Yosef Wolf, while he was traveling with his wife and young daughter. The attack occurred on Thursday evening near the entrance to Kherson, a city that has seen repeated waves of violence since the start of the full-scale invasion.

The alarming incident was confirmed by Ukraine’s Chief Rabbi, Moshe Azman, who shared the news on social media. “Two hours ago (around 9:00 p.m.), a Russian FPV drone attacked the car of Kherson Chief Rabbi Yosef Wolf!” Azman wrote.

“I just spoke to him on the phone. The drone flew into the car at a very high speed! At the time of the attack, the rabbi, his wife, and their young daughter were inside. Thank God, they were not injured!”

Though the family miraculously escaped without physical harm, the psychological toll of such an attack is profound — especially as it targeted a prominent religious leader traveling with his family in what should have been a routine journey.

Rabbi Wolf has been a visible figure in Kherson, continuing his work to support the Jewish community amid constant threat and displacement. His survival, along with his family’s, is being seen as nothing short of a miracle by many in Ukraine’s Jewish community.
