A massive wildfire has erupted just 20 kilometers outside of Athens, sending thick plumes of smoke into the sky and raising alarm across the Greek capital. Fueled by dry conditions and strong winds, the flames are spreading rapidly, threatening nearby communities and forcing emergency services into urgent action.
Residents in surrounding areas have been urged to remain on high alert, with some already facing evacuation orders as fire crews race to contain the blaze. Helicopters and firefighting aircraft have been deployed to assist on the ground, where crews are battling intense heat and difficult terrain.
