Tensions and tragedy continue to mount in Gaza as rescue teams report that 35 people were killed on Thursday by Israeli strikes across various parts of the besieged territory. Among the dead, according to officials on the ground, were four individuals who had been waiting in line to receive humanitarian aid.

Mahmud Bassal, spokesperson for the Gaza Civil Defence agency, confirmed the casualties to AFP, stating that the deaths occurred in separate incidents throughout the day. The strikes, he said, hit multiple locations across the Gaza Strip, worsening an already dire humanitarian situation.

“Four of those killed were simply waiting for humanitarian aid,” Bassal reported, underscoring the deadly conditions even in areas where civilians gather for relief.

This latest wave of violence adds to the growing toll of the ongoing conflict, which has left thousands dead and wounded, and pushed much of Gaza’s population into a constant state of displacement, hunger, and fear. With aid access severely limited and safe zones shrinking, the killing of civilians—especially those seeking help—has sparked renewed international concern and calls for immediate de-escalation.
