Authorities in Croatia are investigating a major human smuggling operation after a Polish national, believed to be based in Germany, was caught abandoning dozens of undocumented migrants near the Croatian border.
According to officials, the smuggler transported the group across several countries before leaving them near a remote stretch of the border, where they were later discovered by Croatian border patrol officers.
The migrants, reportedly from various non-EU countries, were found in visibly distressed condition after being left without proper shelter or resources.

The driver, a Polish citizen with suspected ties to an organized smuggling network operating in Western Europe, managed to flee the scene but was later apprehended by law enforcement with assistance from regional agencies.
Human smuggling continues to be a serious concern for EU border states, with authorities warning that traffickers are increasingly using dangerous and remote routes to evade detection.
