Tensions between Iran and the West deepened further on Tuesday after Iranian lawmakers passed a bill suspending cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The move was immediately followed by chants of “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” from within the parliamentary chamber, signaling a sharp escalation in Tehran’s defiance amid mounting global pressure.

The bill, passed by a significant majority, effectively halts Iran’s obligations to allow nuclear inspections under the IAEA framework, a decision officials say comes in response to what they describe as Western aggression and recent military strikes.

Iranian state media broadcast the moment lawmakers broke into chants, a gesture that has long symbolized the Islamic Republic’s hardline stance against the U.S. and Israel. The dramatic display comes just days after Israel’s latest military action inside Iranian territory, and amid reports of increased regional instability.
