Following a series of U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities over the weekend, Iran’s government has moved swiftly to reassure its citizens, stating that there is no immediate threat to public safety. The strikes, which targeted key nuclear sites in Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordo, marked a significant escalation in the ongoing tensions between Washington and Tehran.

Speaking on state television, government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani addressed concerns about the impact of the attacks. “There is no danger to the people living on the outskirts of our nuclear areas,” she said. “The people of Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordo can continue their lives.”

The United States launched the strikes on Sunday, deploying bunker-busting munitions in what it described as a strategic effort to halt Iran’s nuclear advancement. While the full extent of the damage is still being assessed, Iranian officials confirmed that critical infrastructure at the targeted sites sustained some destruction.

However, the Iranian government remains defiant. In a statement carried by the Tasnim News Agency, Atomic Energy Organization of Iran spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi emphasized the resilience of the country’s nuclear program.

“They should know that this industry has roots in our country, and the roots of this national industry cannot be destroyed,” he declared. “Of course, we have suffered damage, but this is not the first time that the industry has suffered damage.”

Iran has long insisted that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, despite growing international skepticism and rising regional tensions. The recent strikes by the U.S., which were launched in coordination with Israeli military operations, have raised fears of a broader conflict and renewed scrutiny over Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
In the aftermath of the attacks, Iranian leaders have sought to project calm and control, reassuring citizens while reaffirming the country’s determination to rebuild and continue its nuclear work. Meanwhile, global leaders and organizations are calling for restraint and urging both sides to return to diplomatic channels before the crisis deepens further.
