The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has confirmed the successful elimination of Mohammed Khader al-Husseini, a top Hezbollah commander, in a targeted drone strike carried out in Shabriha, near the southern Lebanese city of Tyre.
According to military sources, al-Husseini was the commander of Hezbollah’s firepower unit in the Litani River region — a key operational figure believed to have overseen advanced weapons systems and rocket deployments aimed at northern Israel.

The IDF released aerial footage showing the moment the strike hit its target, underscoring the precision and intelligence that guided the operation.

The strike comes amid rising tensions along Israel’s northern border, where exchanges of fire between the IDF and Hezbollah have intensified in recent weeks. Israeli military officials stated that the operation was part of an ongoing effort to neutralize high-level threats and disrupt Hezbollah’s military infrastructure close to the border.

“This was a direct hit against a central figure in Hezbollah’s operational framework,” an IDF spokesperson said. “We will continue to act decisively to defend our citizens and prevent attacks against Israeli territory.”

Mohammed Khader al-Husseini’s death is expected to be a significant blow to Hezbollah’s tactical operations in the region, particularly in southern Lebanon, where the group maintains a network of fortified positions and rocket launch sites.
As of now, Hezbollah has not officially responded to the strike. However, the situation remains fluid, with regional observers warning of potential retaliatory actions that could further escalate the conflict.
