Amid rising tensions in the region, the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem will be closed from Wednesday, June 18 through Friday, June 20, according to an announcement from the U.S. State Department. The closure, which also includes the consular sections in both Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, is being carried out in line with guidance from Israel’s Home Front Command.

“Given the security situation and in compliance with Israel Home Front Command guidance, the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem will be closed,” the State Department confirmed in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter).

The decision underscores the growing volatility in the region as hostilities continue to escalate. While no specific threats were cited in the announcement, the move reflects heightened caution by U.S. authorities as diplomatic missions respond to the evolving security landscape.

Officials did not specify whether emergency services would be available during the closure period, but travelers and U.S. citizens in Israel have been advised to stay alert and follow local safety directives.
