In a dramatic and incendiary display on the floor of Iran’s parliament, several lawmakers were seen burning an American flag while chanting “Death to America,” marking a significant escalation in hostile rhetoric amid the ongoing regional crisis.

The fiery protest, captured on national television, occurred during a parliamentary session in Tehran, where Members of Parliament (MPs) also threatened the use of nuclear weapons against the United States—a stark warning that has drawn global condemnation and deepened concerns over Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

The provocative act came in the wake of intensified conflict between Iran and Israel, with the United States reaffirming its support for Israel and stepping up its military presence in the region. In response, Iranian officials have increasingly portrayed the U.S. as a direct aggressor, blaming it for encouraging instability in the Middle East.

During the session, lawmakers accused the U.S. of backing Israeli strikes on Iranian soil and vowed retaliation if further action is taken. One MP warned that Iran had “the capability and the right” to respond with force, adding that “no part of the American homeland would be safe if red lines are crossed.”

Global leaders have called for restraint and a return to diplomacy, with the United Nations and European Union urging Iran to abide by its commitments under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
