A mass shooting disrupted WestFest, the annual city festival in West Valley City, Utah, on Sunday night, leaving several individuals injured and triggering a major law enforcement response.
The incident unfolded around 9:40 p.m. local time at Centennial Park, where the festival was in full swing. According to a statement from West Valley City Police, multiple people were hurt in the shooting, though the exact number of victims has not yet been confirmed.

Authorities said a Public Information Officer (PIO) was en route and urged media outlets to await further updates.

In response to the shooting, the Utah Department of Transportation closed northbound 5600 West at 3500 South in Salt Lake County, restricting traffic in and around the area as police secured the scene and began their investigation.
