In a deeply emotional video message released this morning, the mayor of Rishon LeZion, a city just south of Tel Aviv, said he had “never seen destruction like this in my life,” following a wave of strikes that rocked parts of Israel overnight.

The mayor, visibly shaken, described scenes of widespread damage across his city, with entire residential blocks reduced to rubble and emergency services working around the clock to locate survivors. He emphasized the profound emotional toll on residents, many of whom have been displaced or injured.

“This is unlike anything we’ve ever experienced,” he said. “The destruction is massive. Families are homeless, infrastructures are shattered, and we are doing everything we can to help the people.”

The strikes, which came amid rapidly escalating hostilities between Israel and Iran, appear to have targeted key urban areas near Tel Aviv. Civil defense teams and local authorities have been coordinating rescue and relief efforts, while hospitals in the region remain overwhelmed with casualties.

Images and videos from the scene show collapsed buildings, crushed vehicles, and citizens sifting through the wreckage in search of loved ones. The emotional statement from Rishon LeZion’s mayor has resonated with many across the country, reflecting the growing fear and fatigue among civilians caught in the conflict.

As the situation continues to unfold, the mayor called for unity, resilience, and swift international action to prevent further suffering, urging the public to remain vigilant while support systems are mobilized.
