Tensions soared in the Israeli parliament today as Arab lawmaker Ayman Odeh was forcefully removed from the Knesset floor following a fiery speech criticizing Israel’s military campaign in Gaza.
Odeh, a prominent voice in Israel’s Arab political community and former leader of the Joint List alliance, delivered a passionate condemnation of the ongoing war, denouncing what he described as indiscriminate violence and humanitarian devastation in the besieged Palestinian enclave.
His remarks quickly drew the ire of several right-wing lawmakers, leading to a heated confrontation on the chamber floor.

Security personnel intervened moments later, escorting Odeh out of the Knesset as shouting erupted among the members. The dramatic removal reflects the deepening political and social divisions within Israeli society as the Gaza conflict continues to escalate.

Odeh has long been a critic of Israel’s military policy and has called for a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through dialogue and mutual recognition. His ejection is likely to spark renewed debate about freedom of expression in the Knesset and the increasingly polarized discourse surrounding the war.
The incident comes amid mounting international scrutiny and growing internal dissent over the war’s human cost, with thousands of casualties reported in Gaza and continued calls for a ceasefire. As the conflict shows no signs of abating, the political fallout within Israel appears to be intensifying.
