The conflict in Gaza has intensified yet again, with more than 100 Palestinians reportedly killed in Israeli air strikes since dawn today. Dozens remain missing beneath the rubble of flattened buildings, as emergency crews and residents continue their desperate search for survivors.
Gaza’s Ministry of Health has reported at least 53,119 confirmed deaths and over 119,000 people wounded since the onset of Israel’s military campaign. The Government Media Office has provided an even higher estimate, updating the death toll to over 61,700, noting that thousands of individuals still trapped under debris are presumed dead.

In a further widening of the conflict, Israel’s military also launched strikes on targets in Yemen’s Houthi-controlled areas, including the strategic ports of Hodeidah and as-Salif. These attacks, according to Israeli officials, are in response to continued regional threats, though critics argue they risk destabilizing the broader Middle East even further.

Hamas has condemned the latest wave of bombings as a “barbaric escalation” and has urged the international community to intervene and hold Israel accountable for the soaring civilian death toll.

The group warns that the continued bombardment of densely populated areas in Gaza amounts to collective punishment and violates international humanitarian law.

The conflict, which reignited with Hamas-led attacks on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, remains one of the deadliest in the region’s recent history. That single day of violence claimed the lives of an estimated 1,139 people in Israel, with more than 200 others taken hostage—a tragedy that marked the start of the current military campaign.

As the humanitarian crisis deepens in Gaza and regional tensions escalate, calls for an immediate ceasefire and renewed diplomatic engagement are growing louder across the globe. Yet with both sides entrenched and the civilian population bearing the brunt, a peaceful resolution still appears far out of reach.
