Pakistan Declares State of Emergency After Indian Missile Strikes

In the wake of reported Indian missile strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has declared a state of emergency across the province.

Responding to the escalating regional tensions, Maryam Nawaz issued immediate directives mobilizing key emergency services.

All doctors and medical personnel across Punjab have had their leaves canceled, with hospitals placed on high alert. The provincial government has also summoned all civil defence teams, along with officers and staff from other critical departments, to report for duty without delay.

This urgent mobilization comes as part of precautionary measures to prepare for any potential fallout following the military strikes. Authorities in Punjab are coordinating to ensure readiness in hospitals, emergency shelters, and key infrastructure.

“We are taking all necessary steps to protect our citizens and maintain readiness in light of the recent developments,” a provincial official said. The government is monitoring the situation closely and has urged the public to remain calm but vigilant.

Earlier, the Indian government confirmed that it had carried out precision strikes on nine terror targets located in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. These operations were launched in response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen.
