In a bold statement that signals ongoing regional tensions, Mahdi al-Mashat, the head of Yemen’s Houthi Supreme Political Council, has declared that the Iran-aligned group will continue launching attacks in solidarity with Gaza.
The announcement was made through Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV, reaffirming the group’s position despite a reported ceasefire agreement involving the United States.
Addressing Israeli citizens directly, al-Mashat warned them to remain in bomb shelters, claiming that their government would not be able to offer protection from the continued assaults. His remarks underscore a defiant tone and suggest that the group’s military operations will remain active despite any diplomatic negotiations occurring behind the scenes.

“The ceasefire with the United States does not include a halt in our attacks on Israel,” al-Mashat reportedly stated, signaling a continuation of hostilities and support for Palestinian factions amid the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict.

While reports of a ceasefire agreement between the Houthis and the United States had stirred cautious optimism, al-Mashat’s statement reveals that the group sees its campaign against Israel as separate from any such arrangements.

The situation highlights the complex nature of Middle Eastern alliances, where ceasefires with one actor do not necessarily guarantee peace on all fronts.
The Houthis’ declaration of continued involvement adds another layer to the escalating crisis in the region. With Iran-backed groups in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and now Yemen aligning themselves with the Palestinian cause, the Gaza conflict is increasingly taking on a broader, multi-front dimension.
The international community continues to monitor the evolving security landscape, as statements like these raise concerns about the potential for wider regional conflict.
