The winds of change may be blowing through the Santiago Bernabéu. Carlo Ancelotti, one of the most decorated managers in modern football, is reportedly edging closer to a departure from Real Madrid, and his next destination could spark a major shift in the global football landscape.

While initial reports earlier this season suggested that Ancelotti would bid farewell to the Spanish giants at the end of the campaign, the narrative appears to have accelerated following Real Madrid’s Champions League quarter-final exit at the hands of Arsenal.

The heavy defeat, which saw Madrid thoroughly outplayed by the English side, has added weight to speculation that the Italian tactician could be leaving sooner rather than later — potentially after the Copa del Rey final later this month.

According to sources including FootballTransfers and journalist Duncan Castles, Ancelotti is now being seriously courted by the Saudi Arabian national team, who are eager to bring in a world-class manager to spearhead a long-term project ahead of the 2034 FIFA World Cup, which Saudi Arabia will host.

It’s understood that Ancelotti is open to the idea of coaching in Saudi Arabia, which would mark a major coup for the kingdom’s ambitious football development plans. But Saudi Arabia isn’t the only one knocking on Ancelotti’s door.

The Brazilian Football Confederation has also reportedly shown interest in securing the Italian manager’s services. With Brazil looking to regroup following Dorival Junior’s departure, Ancelotti has emerged as a high-profile option to lead the Selecão into a new era.

Brazilian officials, including the federation’s president, are believed to be keen on landing Ancelotti as part of a broader strategy to revitalize the national team.

As for Ancelotti’s current situation in Madrid, the club has not officially confirmed his exit. However, if the reports prove accurate, the Copa del Rey final could be the curtain call for his second spell in charge. His last La Liga fixtures — including crucial games against Athletic Club and Getafe — may end up being his final domestic outings for Los Blancos.

Ancelotti’s legacy at Real Madrid is secure, with multiple trophies and a deep connection to the club and its players. But if this chapter is indeed coming to a close, his next move will be one of the most closely watched transitions in world football — whether it’s leading Saudi Arabia’s ambitious World Cup journey or guiding Brazil back to glory.
