Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, has officially secured a spot among the world’s top three billionaires for the first time, with an astonishing net worth of $242 billion.
According to the Hurun Global Rich List 2025, the 40-year-old tech mogul saw his fortune skyrocket by 53%, adding $84 billion over the past year. This surge in wealth was largely fueled by Meta’s aggressive investments in artificial intelligence (AI) and other cutting-edge technologies.
Zuckerberg was the second-biggest wealth gainer of the year, trailing only behind Elon Musk, who amassed an additional $189 billion—cementing his place as the world’s richest person.

The Hurun Global Rich List 2025 ranks 3,442 billionaires from 2,524 companies across 71 countries. This year saw a 5% increase in the number of billionaires compared to the previous year. Here’s how the rankings shaped up:

Meta’s AI boom propelled Zuckerberg to third place, marking his first-ever entry into the top three.
4. Larry Ellison – $203 Billion
The Oracle co-founder climbed in the rankings with a $59 billion increase, thanks to the growing demand for cloud computing and enterprise AI solutions.
5. Warren Buffett – $167 Billion
At 94, the legendary investor remains in the top five, with a $23 billion boost to his fortune, driven by Berkshire Hathaway’s strong performance.

6. Larry Page – $164 Billion
The Google co-founder jumped three spots, benefiting from a 33% rise in Alphabet’s stock.
7. Bernard Arnault – $157 Billion
The LVMH chairman slid to seventh place after losing $18 billion. His fortune took a hit due to challenges like China’s slowing economy, political instability in France, and a decline in luxury demand.
8. Steve Ballmer – $156 Billion
The former Microsoft CEO held steady in eighth place, with a 10% increase in his wealth over the year.
9. Sergey Brin – $148 Billion
Another Google co-founder, Brin moved up two spots as Alphabet’s stock surged, boosting his fortune by 30%.

10. Bill Gates – $143 Billion
Despite stepping back from Microsoft’s operations, Bill Gates retained his place in the top 10 with a 4% increase in his wealth.
